Born in Lisbon 1961, was educated at the Universidade Livre of Lisbon graduating in 1986.

Admitted to the Portuguese Bar in 1989. In 1987 he worked as an in-house lawyer to Partex- Companhia Portuguesa de Serviços SA and in 1990 joined as head of the legal department of the insurance company "O Trabalho" where he remained until 2001.

Languages: Portuguese, English, French and Spanish.

Main practice area: Litigation, with an emphasis on Insurance, Civil, Commercial and Labour Law.

Head of the Litigation Department.
