International Department

The International Department has a strong focus on property work, particularly: bespoke property advice for British, Irish and other non-Portuguese private buyers and sellers; tailor made advice for British, Irish and other non-Portuguese investors buying and selling property; advice on all aspects of the property development process; specialist advice on planning and tourism law.

The International Team consists of experienced Portuguese lawyers and English solicitors. The Head of International, born in Ireland and practising as an English solicitor registered at the Portuguese Bar, is also the Managing Partner. We have a strong connection to the British, Irish and other non-Portuguese property markets and as a result are able to provide the high quality advice required by private individuals and investors.

Once instructed by a private individual or the investor, the International Team will prepare a Report on Title or due diligence report as appropriate on the proposed property. The team will also provide support to the private buyer which includes regularly liaising with the developer and regular visits to the development site.

We will also guide the developer investor through each stage of the purchase and sale process from the initial purchase to the eventual sale of the development. Therefore ancillary advice will be provided on, for example, the vehicle set up, the licensing issues and the contracts for sale and development.
