Contracts & Notarial Services

NDR can offer its private and commercial clients a full range of official notary services in accordance with the terms and requirements of Portuguese law.  In order to be valid and enforceable, many acts in Portugal need to be carried out and entered into in a particular format and must be duly certified by a solicitor or notary.

Our aim is to provide our clients with a personalized and tailor-made service.  With this in mind, we can carry out these services at any of our offices or at any location chosen by the client, thus eliminating any inconvenience of travelling to a Notary or Registration office.

Our contracts and notarial services will cover most areas of law, including Property, Civil and Company/Commercial. These services include (among others):

Property:

  • Purchase and Sale (with or without mortgage)
  • Transfer of Ownership
  • Exchange of Properties
  • Horizontal Property (division of buildings into flats or units)
  • Property related rights (e.g. rights of way, surface, usufruct)

Civil:

  • Gifts;
  • Mortgages and Loans secured by properties;
  • Transfer of credits
  • Payments in kind

Company/Commercial:

  • Incorporation of companies;
  • Opening of branches
  • Transfers of Shares
  • Changes to the Board of Directors
  • Increase of share capital
  • Admission of new shareholders
  • Mergers and spin-offs
  • Wind up of companies

The above services are all inclusive and therefore are completed with the subsequent mandatory registration of the act with the relevant entities (Land Registry, Commercial Registry, Tax department etc.)

In addition to these services, we also offer our clients the majority of the standard notarial acts, including:

  • Powers of Attorney
  • Certified copies of Documents
  • Certified translation of Documents
  • Authentication of Signatures

Our English Solicitors are also able to provide a range of English notarial services, namely:

  • obtaining an Apostille or other legalization from a consulate
  • Statutory Declarations, Swearing of Oaths and affidavits
  • certified translations of documents
  • certified copies of documents
